Raywood Snapshot RDC2010

The Raywood Snapshot is an automatic infra-red camera and secure solid state memory unit enabling photographic images to be stored as a deterrent against would be attackers and potentially used as evidence against actual offenders. The Raywood Snapshot provides the taxi industry with a solution to the ever increasing concern of driver safety.

Wide Angle Lens

The Raywood Snapshot camera with its integrated infra-red lighting fits above the rearview mirror and is able to take photographs of the entire vehicle's interior using a specially selected wide angle lens.

Image Storage

A total of up to 200 monochrome images can be stored in a custom designed DSP controlled solid state memory unit. (This can be increased to over 1000 images if optional DSP image compression algorithms are used.)

Night or Day

The combination of an infra-red camera, special light filters and auxiliary lighting in conjunction with an auto electronic shutter mechanism allows clear images to be taken day or night as passengers enter the vehicle, as the meter is turned on and as passengers exit the vehicle.

In addition to this the driver has the ability to activate the camera on a manual basis to take additional images as required, or to activate an alarm causing the camera to take a sequence of images.

Time and Date Stamp

Each image is stamped with the date, time and vehicle's registration number. This data is then encrypted to avoid tampering. Images are stored securely and can only be retrieved using a specially provided Windows(tm) based software package.

GPS Compatible

The Raywood SnapShot includes provision for an optional Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, allowing vehicle position information to be included with the usual date and time stamping.

Video Output

The video output allows viewing of images in a quick and user friendly manner to help determine if required images have been captured.

The future Raywood SnapShot will see the ability to connect to TETRA - the open digital radio standard. This will mean real time transmission of images to a central control point, enabling the ability to monitor a potentially hostile situation.

The SnapShot RDC-2010 recording module is mounted in an easy release device, enabling quick change over of unit, keeping the vehicle on the road longer.
